Not a great year re death
Well, today was overshadowed by the death of Stuart Ruffell. Chum, business partner, husband and lover of Irene, dad of Mark and Steven, Search and Rescue Dog Association mainstay, genuinely decent person (which is a rare thing these days), small businessman. Stuart and I have had our differences (all to do with business) but ultimately he was a friend. Probably the only person I’ve ever met who contributed more to society than he took from it. Whether rescuing folk in extremis on the hill, fundraising for the Rotary Club, or just rolling up his sleeves and getting stuck in to whatever needed done……Stuart was there.
RIP mate, hope there are hills wherever you are now!
Strange, but it all seems so unreal, Stuart was so vital and involved with life that I’m having trouble accepting his death. It must be a total nightmare for Irene and the boys. My thoughts and love are with them.
